Dr. Angela Mae, PT, DPT
Angela is a doctor of physical therapy specializing in pelvic health. She earned her undergraduate degrees in Biology and Environmental Studies from the University of California Santa Barbara before completing her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. There, she was recognized as Doctor of Physical Therapy Student of the Year by both her program and the American Physical Therapy Association for her outstanding contributions to the profession, including founding the Pelvic Health Student Interest Group to increase awareness and promote discussion of the specialty among students, providers, and the broader community.
Angela’s path into healthcare was inspired by her background as a yoga instructor and her fascination with human movement. As she delved more into the profession, she discovered she was particularly drawn to pelvic physical therapy and its transformative impact on patients’ lives. Recognizing the stigma surrounding pelvic health, she is committed to dismantling these barriers to provide truly holistic care that optimizes quality of life - from foundational daily activities to peak recreational performance. Her patient-centered approach to care emphasizes education, empowerment, and creating sustainable solutions that help people feel confident and capable in their bodies.
As an endurance athlete herself, Angela has a special interest working with runners and other athletes, focusing on injury prevention, performance enhancement, and safe return to sport. She is most passionate about the combination of orthopedics and pelvic health in the recreational realm. She completed her doctorate internship at a nationally renowned sports medicine clinic, fortifying her skills in both orthopedic and pelvic health treatments. She has also served as a key speaker on orthopedic and pelvic health topics in various academic and professional settings. Driven by curiosity, passion, and strong will to provide the best for her patients, Angela continues to pursue on-going training and education including her certification in dry needling.
In her free time, Angela is an active member of local running clubs and is often training for her next marathon. She also loves to bake, travel, and unwind with a good book and cup of tea.
