Daiva Ragas, MS, OTR/L
Daiva studied psychology at Lake Forest College and worked in public health research focused on improving women’s healthcare access and outcomes at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine before graduating from the University of Illinois-Chicago’s Occupational Therapy program in 2016. She spent ten years in inpatient hospital and acute rehab settings, and previously focused on stroke, oncology, low vision, and limb loss rehabilitation. During this time, she became skilled at providing holistic, person-centered care from a nervous system-based and trauma-informed lens to help individuals with complex injuries and medical conditions feel like themselves again. She also taught group fitness classes for many years and enjoyed supporting clients through injury recovery, pregnancy, and postpartum modifications. She has spent the last few years providing mobile outpatient therapy to clients in their homes, and loves being able to leverage a person’s own environment to support carryover of therapeutic interventions in their daily life.
Throughout her career, Daiva noticed the gaps in pelvic health for individuals across the lifespan, especially in the early postpartum timeframe, and she grew more passionate about maternal health. After her son was born in 2024, Daiva’s own experience navigating fertility, pregnancy, birth, postpartum healing, infant feeding, matrescence, and pelvic floor dysfunction, with the help of incredibly supportive providers including the team at OWN, inspired her to specialize in pelvic health.
Daiva is passionate about the benefit of early intervention for prenatal and postpartum pelvic health and the power of improving pelvic health for optimal wellness, and also strongly believes that it is never too late to address pelvic floor concerns. Her empathetic, collaborative approach focuses on meeting you where you’re at to help you establish realistic and sustainable daily habits and routines that make a meaningful impact. She recognizes that you are the greatest facilitator of your wellbeing, and is honored to be trusted to help guide and support you in your healing.
Daiva found her enthusiasm for outdoor adventure in her 30s and loves any chance to mountain bike, ski, hike, camp, and relish in nature with her husband, toddler, and rescue pup. In her downtime she also enjoys traveling, reading, yoga, being a lifelong learner, and listening to a wide variety of music.
