Mariette Chao (She/Her)
Mariette is based in Denver, Colorado, where she lives with her husband and their two energetic kids. She is the founder of Denver Therapy and Doula Services, which she established after many years in private practice as a mental health therapist. In addition to her clinical work, she is a certified doula and supports families throughout the Denver metropolitan area.
Mariette is deeply committed to supporting individuals and families through life’s transitions, including pregnancy, birth, and major personal change. Her practice is grounded in inclusivity, and she welcomes people of all races, genders, sexual orientations, and ethnic backgrounds. Joy, authenticity, and compassion guide both her professional work and personal life.
Therapy Training and Experience
Mariette earned her Master of Social Work in Clinical Practice from New York University. She later received advanced training in a Yale University–based model of family therapy, providing in-home family systems therapy. Her ongoing professional education includes specialized training in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, adult ADHD, the effects of shame, family and couples therapy, grief, executive coaching, and therapeutic writing.
Mariette is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and holds active licenses in both Pennsylvania and Colorado.
